Everyday Practices
For Remembering You’ve Come Through Before
Welcome. These practices are here to help you remember the times you’ve pulled through. Start wherever feels right, and use the shorter versions when time is tight. Tap play to listen, or download any track to keep.
A reflective practice for remembering your inner strength. You think back to a tough time, maybe two weeks ago, maybe twenty years, when things felt out of your control. Maybe you gave up at times. You still made it. Then you hear some words, like honesty and resilience, and notice which ones your experience tells you that you showed. The full version ends with a few minutes resting with the out-breath. The 11-minute version leaves out the breathing, and the 6-minute one is the reflection without the list of words.

Short affirmations for when things feel like too much. ‘I am stronger than my mind gives me credit for.’ ‘I am resilient, because I have risen from my challenges before.’ Then some simpler lines to hold on to, like ‘I’ve got this’ and ‘I always rise again.’ The full version goes through the affirmations a few times, and the shorter one goes through them once.

For when feelings start coming back after a time of feeling numb. We go to The Wisdom of The Waves: when you were surviving, you were in Protection Mode and couldn’t afford to feel everything. As the freeze thaws, even small pain can feel intense, because you’re no longer shutting it down. Then some words for yourself, like ‘What I feel now is proof I am alive.’ It ends with a rhyming affirmation.
