By bedtime, the body has carried us through all of it. We rarely stop to notice that, let alone thank it. Then we lie down, and the mind starts up again.

Sleepy affirmations are a kind way to close the day. You don’t have to repeat them or concentrate on them. You lie back and let the words wash over you as you drift off, slow phrases of thanks and care, like ‘Dear body, it’s time to heal. You’ve been here all my life. Thank you.’

It can feel a bit strange at first to speak to yourself this way. That’s fine. It’s something most of us were never taught. Over a few nights, the words can start to feel more like your own.

There are three tracks here, each with music underneath, from a choir to a sound bath. My Body Heals comes in three versions, including an extended one where the choir carries on long after the words. I Am Here For Me comes in two, with the same words and different music.

What’s inside

My Body Heals

3 versions

Extended, with choir · 55 minFull version · 24 minShorter version · 20 min

For when your body has carried you through a long day. The affirmations begin with a thank you: ‘Dear body, it’s time to heal. You’ve been here all my life.’ Slow phrases follow about softening and sleeping well, and you just let them in. Each round ends with ‘It all happens as I drift away.’ The extended version plays the affirmations twice, with a female choir that carries on long after. The full version gives you time to settle first, and the shorter one gets to the words sooner.

My Body Rejuvenates

22 min

For the end of a day when you’re running low. You find your favourite sleeping position and notice the you that looks out from behind closed eyes, as your body melts into the bed. Then come affirmations to absorb, with a sound bath and choir underneath, like ‘I choose to hold myself lightly’, and a thought for the meaningful connection tomorrow may bring. It ends with you as the observer, holding every sense and every thought in a wide space of awareness as you drift away.

I Am Here For Me (for sleep)

2 versions

With atmospheric choir · 20 minOriginal version · 17 min

For when you want to fall asleep on your own side. The affirmations begin with thanks to your body and a reminder that all is well. Then simple phrases like ‘I choose stillness and space’, turning towards ‘This space is here for me. I am here for me.’ It closes with ‘All is well in this kind, loving and spacious place’ as you drift off. Both versions use the same words. The longer one has an atmospheric choir, and the music runs on for longer after the words end.
